At Surf Your Best we provide surf coaching and instruction for absolute beginners through to advanced surfers.
To simplify the process we break surfing into different stages, within these stages we have developed specific lessons to ensure you learn skills in the right order to progress to the next level and stay stoked.
Stage 1- The White Water Warrior
White water waves are where it all starts, this is the ideal environment to master all the basics of surfing. White water exists after a wave has broken and is easy to catch meaning you get a lot of wave time, in turn, developing all the skills necessary to progress. This initial stage of surfing is an important one, the fundamentals of surfing will set you up with a solid foundation.
Stage 2- Welcome to Surfing Green Waves
Once you have developed your skills in the white water it’s time for the next step – green waves! With out a doubt, learning to catch a green wave before it has broken is one of the most challenging parts of learning to surf. We specialize in helping people understand the science behind reading waves and timing so you can consistently catch green waves without nosediving or missing the wave. During this stage we also teach you how to paddle out beyond the break, how to position yourself around other surfers and much more.
Stage 3 – Consistently Catching Green waves
Now you are starting to catch green waves with more consistency, it’s time to really focus turning your board and adapting to the wave as it is breaking. We will again delve into the art of reading waves, only this time not to catch it but to surf it as it changes shape whilst you riding it.
